The example of Christ in the life of the Church

1. Each of us should please his neighbor (v. 2)
a. Who is my neighbor and how do I interact with them? (Leviticus 19:18, 34; Luke 10:25-37; Matthew 5:43-45)

b. What is the goal, or desired outcome, of pleasing my neighbor? (1 Peter 2:5, Ephesians 2:22; 1 Kings 6:7; Colossians 3:15)

c. Why should we obey this instruction? (Romans 15:3; Philippians 2:5-11; Romans 15:4; Luke 24:26-32; Hebrews 2:9-10)

2. May God give us a spirit of unity (v. 5-6; Ephesians 4:4-6)
a. Why can’t we achieve unity on our own?

b. Whose example do we follow in petitioning God for a spirit of unity? (John 17:11, 20-21)

3. Accept one another as Christ accepted you (v. 7)
a. How did Christ accept you and how should we accept others? (John 8:10-11; Luke 5:32; Romans 3:10)

b. What were you like when Christ accepted you? (1 Corinthians 1:26; James 2:1-4)
